Terms of Use

Last Updated: January 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the AD Detox HelpLine advisory service (the "Service"), callers agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If these terms are not acceptable, the Service should not be used. Continued use of the helpline constitutes acceptance of these terms and any future modifications.

2. Nature of Service

2.1 Third-Party Advisory Service

AD Detox HelpLine operates as a third-party matching and advisory service connecting individuals with addiction treatment and detoxification facilities. This service is not a medical provider, treatment center, or healthcare facility. No direct treatment services, medical care, or counseling are provided.

2.2 Advertising Relationships

All treatment facilities receiving calls through this service are paid advertisers. These facilities compensate the Service for advertising placement and call routing. Calls to specific treatment center listings are routed directly to those facilities. General helpline calls are answered by treatment providers who pay advertising fees.

2.3 No Commission Structure

The Service does not receive commissions or performance-based fees based on which treatment provider a caller selects or whether admission occurs. Treatment centers pay standard advertising fees regardless of caller decisions or outcomes.

3. Service Availability

The advisory line operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. However, service availability is not guaranteed. Technical issues, maintenance, or other circumstances may result in temporary interruptions. The Service is not liable for unavailability or interruptions that prevent access to the helpline.

4. No Cost and No Obligation

Calls to the advisory line are provided at no cost to callers. No fees are charged for consultation, referral, or advisory services. Callers have no obligation to enter treatment, contact any specific facility, or take any particular action as a result of using this service.

Treatment facilities may charge fees for their services. Financial arrangements with treatment centers are independent agreements between the caller and the facility.

5. Eligibility and Capacity

The Service is intended for individuals aged 18 and over, or those calling on behalf of someone seeking treatment. Callers must have the legal capacity to consent to communications and information sharing. Minors should have parental or guardian involvement when using this service.

6. Not Medical Advice

Information provided through this advisory line does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Advisors are not licensed medical professionals unless specifically stated. The Service provides general information and connects callers with treatment facilities for professional assessment.

Medical emergencies require immediate professional intervention. For emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room immediately.

7. Referrals and Recommendations

7.1 Matching Process

Treatment facility referrals are based on information provided by callers and general matching criteria such as location, treatment type, and availability. The Service makes reasonable efforts to connect callers with appropriate facilities but does not guarantee specific outcomes or facility quality.

7.2 Independent Facilities

All treatment facilities are independent entities operating under their own management, policies, and standards. The Service does not control, supervise, or regulate treatment center operations. Each facility maintains its own admission criteria, treatment protocols, and operational policies.

7.3 No Endorsement

Referral to a treatment facility does not constitute endorsement, certification, or guarantee of quality, effectiveness, or suitability. Callers are encouraged to conduct their own research and ask facilities about credentials, accreditation, treatment approaches, and success rates.

8. User Responsibilities

Callers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about treatment needs
  • Making informed decisions about treatment options
  • Verifying credentials and qualifications of referred facilities
  • Reviewing treatment center policies and agreements before admission
  • Understanding financial obligations with treatment facilities
  • Seeking appropriate medical attention for emergencies
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations

9. Prohibited Uses

The Service may not be used for:

  • Harassment, abuse, or inappropriate conduct toward advisors
  • Providing false or misleading information
  • Attempting to disrupt or interfere with service operations
  • Commercial solicitation or competitive intelligence gathering
  • Any unlawful purpose or activity
  • Accessing the service through automated means (bots, scripts, etc.)

The Service reserves the right to refuse service or terminate assistance if these terms are violated.

10. Privacy and Confidentiality

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy available at addetoxhelpline.com/privacy-policy. By using this service, callers consent to information collection, use, and sharing as described in the Privacy Policy.

Confidentiality is maintained to the extent permitted by law. Information may be disclosed when required by legal process or to protect safety in emergency situations.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. No guarantee is made regarding service availability, accuracy of information, or specific outcomes.

11.3 Third-Party Conduct

The Service is not responsible for the conduct, treatment quality, policies, or practices of independent treatment facilities. Liability for treatment services rests solely with the facility providing care.
